Why is it that after a relationship has ended some men get bad habits?

My best friend dump his girlfriend of 3 years and whom they had two kids, for another girl, but then they split up, and now he is doing again crystal meth, he use to do it before and was addicted but he didn’t do it while he was with his ex-girlfriend, why would a person pick back a bad habit they once left?

Maybe its because he didn’t have someone around him all the time reminding him that drugs are not the best idea??

I dont know, I dont really understand why anyone would do that to themselves.. but he sounds like a piece of crap of a dad if he thinks this is the best example he can set for his children.

addiction is a very hard thing to overcome. Once an addict always an addict. You have to work at that every single day. The battle never goes away. Obviously he has fell back into habits in which are familiar or pain that he has experienced that the drugs make him feel better. He needs to learn to over come his problems in another way without drugs to ever conquer it.
