How long would someone go to jail for this crime [interesting]?

A man is caught selling drugs in an alley.
He had six bags of crack cocaine, seven bags of marijuana, two bags of crystal meth, and one paper bag with approximately fifty thousand dollars. This was all in a large backpack.

He was also carrying a pistol on him.

He’s tried in the state of Georgia, and found guilty.

it all deepens on how lang the state charges a person for each bag drug and for the gun he should get charge about 5 years i think. the total years he should be looking at is 15 years but if he gets parole he will get out with in 8 years.

what is interesting about this? It is pretty much the definition of routine.

as you apparently don’t know, any sentences would be related to:

- the weight or volume of the drugs
- the intent to distribute or not
- the prior record
- the legal status of the gun
- any other outstanding cases the individual is involved in
- the negotiating skill of the defense attorney
- local, state, and federal sentencing guidelines
- any other mitigating factors

not to mention the actual ability of the prosecution to get a guilty verdict out of the judicial system in the first place.
