I have a friend who is 48, is a diabetic, smokes about a pack of cigerettes every 2 days, has been addicted to crystal meth for the past 20 or so years, and also has high blood pressure. He knows all of these medical problems need attention, but continues to use meth and smoke cigarettes and eat unhealthy.. what can I do as a friend, and what kind of danger is he in?

For 5 years, I was in a relationship with a crystal meth addict. I watched him go on a downward spiral. He lost everything because of drugs. About 2 years ago, I got so fed up, I severed all ties with him except the occaisional phone call just to see how he is doing. I called him last week, just to talk for a few minutes, and he sounds horrible. Last time I saw him in person, around October of ‘05, he looked very sick and skinny and just aweful. His family is close to worthless and I don’t think he has any friends left. I can’t help but worry about him. If he doesn’t stop using, I am afraid he will die. I have very limited knowledge about meth. I never got into using with him and I really don’t know what he is going through, but if there is a way I could help him, I would like to try.

She is constantly taking vitamin D and calcium pills and every now and then she goes to the dentist to get her gums checked because they are receding. She used to do crystal meth and that is what she says is the cause but what I’m more concerned is the long term affects? Will she be disabled or suffer from some bone disorder? Thanks a lot guys.

I had 2 very very very close family members and my only brother in law start meth all within the same year and the 2 close family members stopped on their own without 3rd party help and my brother in law left rehab after 2 months but has learned alot and has stopped meth, cigarettes and even liquor i’m just wondering what we can do as a family to keep everyone sober, hope your answers help, this is the happiest we have ever been and i want it to keep it that way especially for the kids!!
